Birth cert issue

Hello,

I had sent my wife's birth cert from US and it has not yet reached India.
is it fine if parents present the photocopy of the birth cert to interviewer stating its been delayed by USPS?

How should I go about this. please advise.

Is it for a visitor visa? If yes, there was no need to send the original BC.
Most cases they do not ask for it, if they do , a copy is fine.

Actually on the immi help website its mentioned original birth cert is required.

Thats why I sent my wife's original birth cert for my inlaw's visa interview.
