  • UK Transit Visa

    Hey,

Am travelling through British Airways from Washington, DC to Mumbai via London-Heathrow(no airport change).I have an unstamped H1-B visa which is valid until 2008. My student visa-F-1, which technically is superceded by H1-B (in the US) is stamped on my passport with an expiration date of 2007. Do I need a transit visa in this case???

I'd really appreciate if someone could let me know the exact details as i've been going around in circles with my travel agent, BA and other sources.

      Hi!

Might sound silly but wanted to clarify......does it mean that if you have a round trip via UK then you don't have to have the air transit visa?

I have a particular case, travelling from India - London - US with a return ticket US- London - India. Travelling on a visiotr visa to US. Would like to take a week visit in London (only on the way back to India). Then would I need to not take any visa for the trip India-London-US and just take visitor visa for the US-London-India.

          UK Transit Visa

i have a concern here and i am looking forward to seek some help from you. i hope i would get all my answers.
I am travelling to India from Los Angeles, US in January 2015 and i am flying with British Airways. i recently came to know that i may need a DATV transit visa for UK to travel with British Airways even if my stay at London airport is less than an hour and i just have to change flights and will not be going out of the airport. it also states that i am exempted if i have a valid US or Canadian visa on my Indian passport. So my scenario is a little tricky here:

I came to US on F1(Student Visa) and transferred to H1(Work Permit). stamping for which has to happen in India on this trip. So i have an unstamped work authorization but my Student Visa expires in August 2015 which has been superseded by my H1. Do i need to apply for DATV visa or would my Student visa be regarded while my travel from US to India.

P.S. i purchased a round trip ticket, if that makes any difference to this whole situation.
