  • Visitor visa questions

    Hi,

I have couple of questions regarding the visitor's visa:
    1. I booked an appointment for my parents in Aug vis TTS and the appointment is for Feb 1st 2006. Does this appointment still hold good or do I need to reconfirm? If yes, how do I do it?

    2. I came to US last year on a B1 visa, however, my company processed change of status and converted it to L1. Do I have to send all my L1 approval documents also to my parents along with other documents?

    3. I have a joint bank a/c (myself & my husband) here, and therefore the total balance is more than my year's salary. Is it ok to show these bank statements to the consulate? Or should I withdraw some amount?

    4. I want to sponsor my parents trip to US. In that case, Is it required to send my husband's documents also as supporting documents?

    Thanks.

    1. That appointment is valid. Just reconfirm it through the link TTS visa website.

    2. Just send L1 approval notice. Sample at https://www.immihelp.com/h1b1-visa-a...ice-of-action/

    3. That's ok. Not a problem.

    4. If you are sponsoring your parents youself, your husband's documents are not required.

      Thanks for your response.

      I have another question:
Do we have a drop-box facility at Chennai Consulate for people who are above 60 yrs of age?

          Hi,

Regarding the visa application form for visitor's visa, i've the following questions:
          1. My dad is retired, should I still mention his previous employer's information?

          2. Should my dad carry all his original employment papers (joining letter, relieving letter, etc.) to the consulate for interview?

          3. Educational institutions, again should my dad carry his original certificates? What all certificates are required? Unfortunately, my dad doesn't have these documents with him. What's the alternative in that case?

          4. I am sponsoring my parents visit to US, i read somewhere that my parents have to carry my birth certificate. But, I dont have a birth certificate. Is passport good enough?

          Thanks,
          Geeta

I am sorry, I am a little confused here.

I am referring to question no 12 in DS157 visa application form (Not including Current Employer, List your Last two Employers), are you saying if my dad is retired, then he need not fill this section? Can he leave this section blank?

And, Reg question 17 (List All educational institutions you attend or have attended.), are you saying my dad has to enter the details but need not have any supporting documents for the interview?

              Please clarify.

You did not specify the form number.

                1. Yes. Mention them.
                2. Just mention them. No need to carry proof.

I am sorry, but just want to be sure about this. If we specify the previous employment details for question no 12 in DS157 form, are the supporting documents required for proof?

Technically, they can ask for anything. But in practice, they are not required.

                      Hi!

                      Hi!
If he has supporting documents, no harm carrying them.
