Visa for Film Festival

One of my screenplays has been selected for a Film Festival in LA and I want to attend. Is B1/B2 the right visa to apply for?
Also, can I fix deals/sell my screenplays while on a B1/B2 visa as I shall be earning money. If not then please guide the right visa category.

yes B1 is the right visa . You cannot work for money but you can sell and buy anything.

Yes B1 is the right category but you got to be very careful. You cannot write screenplays while in the US and sell them. All your work must have been produced/written when in India and you should say that you are taking them to the US to discuss about a potential collaboration with producers.

You shouldn't sell your product and earn money while you are in the US. But you can have discussions and negotiations to sell your product.
