If anybody share the experience or know the process of entire visa proceddings I mean what are the steps involved, where to show what? Is application should give it to interviewer or anybody. If we keep everything in file in order, can we directly hand it over to interviewr? etc...it helps a lot who are sending their people who don't know english and also others...thx

Hi!
Shall try to tell you as much as I remember from my exp. Things might have changed. Let anyone who is going to the visa that it is usually like this but ask them to be prepared for changes. AND this is at Chennai Consulate.

At entrance the security guard will check your appointment date and time and your passport and then let you in. (note: they don't let you in until your time as in no point going there way too early)

Then you go through security check(metal detector).It is similar to the ones in the airports. The guard there goes through your papers as in just flips through just to make sure nothing else is there in between the papers. (NOTE: Do not carry cellphones, cosmentics in your handbag, also no sealed envelopes)

Then you stand in the queue and pay the TTS courier charges of Rs441 and get a reciept for that.

Then stand in another queue and pay one of the DDs ie Rs4600 one. There she has asked for the application form, passport and my notice of action(had been there for renewal) and just checked somethings and handed it back to me with a reciept

Then went into the next building and there they ask you to stand in the queue or sit there based on crowd(as in how many people ahead of you).

Then one person asks you to go to one of the windows. The interview with the Officer will be through a window counter as in like the bank teller windows.

Then the offcier will ask you some papers depends on case to case. Sometimes asks lots of questions, sometimes very few. And decides to issue you visa.

If you have opted for interpreter Offcier will communicate through him/her.

If asked to pay the other DD Rs2400(or whetevre amt the second DD is for). So if they asked you to pay that amt CONGRATS y ou go tthe visa.

They will send the passport through courier.Usually reaches in a day or two unless weekends and holidays.

actually i too wanted to knowe these details since sending mom alone she is bit tensed and not know english.........also this was old tts sysytem now in new vfs system can some one highlight the process sicnce already fee spaid only one issuance dd in hand so dircetly go to building for the interview or some or procedures , knindly gide members.......exaclty useful for all

What sonujan told is absolutely correct, i want to add something to this.

After giving the TTS DD and taking the reciept, we will be sent to other counter to get the token, where your application form, passport Rs4600 DD is taken and they will set this stuff in a order(may be in a folder) and will give you a token and will tell you to got to next building where you will have an interview with the consular when your token number is called and we have to hand over the organised folder to the consular.

Put page markers and notes while you are sending and tell them to take in that order. I think other counter people in the consulate will help you keep the order before you goto the main interview.

For Parents / In-Laws:
What "Applciaiton Form" stands for? I-134 ? DS-156/157 ?

When our parents goes there to get the ticket do they have to give them two sets of papers?
2 - I-134
2 - DS - 156
2 - DS - 157 (if required)
2 - PP
All the supporting documents should they carry with them or they have to submit those in the window(where the gets the token). Do I need to send them one copy of all supporting documents of two copies. Do I had to send all originals or copy of supporting documents (Pay Slip/W2/Bank statement etc)

One more thing
No of Drafts they have to carry with them

TTS visa : 2 DD of Rs 481 each ?
Application Fee : 2 DD of Rs 4600 each?
Visa Fee : 2 DD of Rs 2400 each?
