  • Can i apply for tourist visa from canada?

    Hey folks.
    I'm a 21 years old israeli citizen currently living in canada under a legal work premit, and i'm working as a short-haul truck driver.
    In order to get a PR here in canada,which is my goal, i need to work as a long-haul truck driver, but i have to obtain some kind of US visa, because long-haul truck drivers usually cross the border with the US.

    Can i apply here in canada for a tourist visa (or any other visa that will help me) to the US?
    Usually United States don't give tourist visa for young israelis because some of them works illigaly there, but maybe i have a chance if i'm currently legaly working in canada, renting a house and owning a bank account?

    thank you very much
    Dan

    Yes, you can apply in Canada for a US visa even if you are a national of a third country.
    And B1 is the only possible non-immigrant visa that will allow you to make truck deliveries. But B1 visa scope has a lot of grey areas, so make sure from an immigration attorney if it covers truck deliveries.

      so actually a b-2 tourist visa won't help me at all?
      but maybe it's easier for b-2 holders to get a b-1?
      thanks.

        B1 , B2 are given together . Like this;
        'B1/B2', B1= business, B2= tourist. If you qualify for one , you automatically qualify for the other.

        But that is not the point. What I am asking you is to talk to an immigration attorney if B1/B2 allows you to make
        truck deliveries in the US. There are several free sites like ' a v v o dot com'
