Interchaged first name and last name in appointment confirmation letter

Hello

I have my visa appointment and biometrics on nov 13th and 14th 2014 respectively

I have mentioned all the details in the ds-160 form correctly

But i have made a mistake in the profile created i have interchanged my first and last name in my profile

I have mentioned my first name as xxx

And i have mentioned my last name as FNU

But in the ds-160

i have mentioned my first name as FNU. ( which is correct)

And i have mentioned my surname as xxx. ( which is correct)

I called up ustraveldocs people they said they cant do anything now since the appointment is already scheduled i need to go to ofc and tell them verbally about the mistake they will understand


I just wanted to know has anyone faced this problem ?

Will i face any problem during the ofc and visa appointment day because of this mistake?

If you have only one name, you have to fill everything like

Last Name = Whatever that name is
First Name = FNU

Even if that one name is the first name, you have to fill it in as last name.

Therefore, as long as it is like that, it is correct.

Hi What happened I have the same issue too.

DS 160 is correct
Visa appointment first name has typo.

They said that i can go ahead with same appointment and get it changed at biometrics but am tensed.

My parents will be attending the interview and since they're old and unaware of these things, it would be helpful if you can elaborate the steps on how to get it changed, so that I can guide my parents.

Middle name missing in my US visa profile

I submitted my DS 160 and got a receipt
number. I noticed my middle name is missing in my profile where as it is
correct on my DS 160. I would like to update my name right before
scheduling for the interview.

First Name as per my passport AND DS 160: ABC XYZ
Last name: DEF

In my US visa profile

First name: ABC
Last Name: DEF

I contacted ustraveldocs and they want me to request for the change at the time of biometrics but I am concerned to schedule for the interview without updating the profile.

Did anyone else face the same situation and was it easy to resolve during biometrics ? Please let me know.

I have this similar issue for my in-laws for one of them the First Name and Surname got swapped in appointment confirmation letter only.

Passport and DS-160 info is correct and are in sync.

please let me know how did it go in your case ? were they able to change it at VAC ?

Can someone please post their experience on this mistakes in appointment confirmation

Looks like many of them had spelling mistakes,swapped First name & Surname,incorrect info in appointment confirmation letter only. DS - 160 and passport had correct information and both are in sync.

I see many have replied as contacted ustraveldocs via chat/call and they suggested to inform the officer at VAC during biometrics and get it corrected.

no one in this forum has shared the experience on how it went at VAC,did the VAC officer corrected it instantly and handed over update appointmment confirmation letter ?

It will be really helpful if someone who can share the experience on this case.

what I did to correct a missing name was to make a note of the error on the page where the error was made and sent it to the embassy and the visa was approved with the correct names on it.
