  • Parents VISA rejected in 2011 applying again in 2014

I am currently working in US on H1B Visa with my wife on H4 visa.

    Last time my parents applied,
    - my father wrote retired in the DS160 and my mom was still working.
    - Both my parents were never went outside the country before.
    - They sponsored them selves and I was on OPT

    Visa got rejected by 214b.

This time here is the situation,

    - I am thinking to put farmer as a current occupation for my father.
    - My Mom is retired now so I am thinking to put homemaker for her.
    - My dad went to Dubai last year so I think thats the plus.
    - I am sponsoring their trip this time.

Is it fine to put 'farmer' in DS160 when we wrote 'retired' in the last interview? Also, Will it help to write 'farmer'?

since you are sponsoring, it will not make much difference if he just writes 'retired' .
because he wrote "retired" last time.

Thanks for the reply peace. I was thinking writing 'farmer' would show strong ties back home. Please correct me if I am wrong.

It's better to show some activity than nothing.
I know few cases.. same as you, got visa by showing some activity second time.

This is my opinion not a legal advice.
