Hi,
My name is Basim, both my brother and I are born in American and have the american citizenship, but both our parents aren't Americans. I am currently studying in the US after moving from Syria 2 years ago, and I am 19 years old. On the other hand my brother is in Syria with our parents and he is only 14 years old. As you know the war in Syria is getting worse and the US is not evacuating american citizens. My family wish that my brother to come to safety, but he is still too young to leave my parents. After contacting the US embassy in both Syrian and Lebanon (after the embassy in Syria closed), they advised us that my mother would apply for a tourist visa to go the the States with my brother. But she was rejected twice. I am hoping that anyone could give me advise. I desperately tried contacting the Department of State and embassy and told them that my brother is facing life threatening dangers everyday, but they said their is nothing they can do. My mother is applying for the visa on her own (without my father) and she have visited the States several times before and she was always here legally. Is there anything I could do to get her to come here other than waiting to turn 21 years old and petition for her to receive a green card? I don't know if this help but both her sister and brother are Americans too, and both are willing to show they have enough income to support her if she came. I sent a letter to the senator in my states 2 days ago but I don't know how long will it take to hear back from him. The first time she got rejected because she has no ties to come back to Syria, although she was a job, house and her husband, and the second time they told her why isn't your husband coming with you. I understand that she don't have strong ties with her country with all the war happening, but you would expect them to give her the visa for the sake of the american child in danger, and they know that once I turn 21 I will be petitioning for her to live in the States. Please help me with your advise. Should I go to the senator office my self, because I hear the can send the embassy a letter to recommend accepting her.
Thanks in Advance
