  • Brother family visiting on B2 | Sister US citizan | Query

    My sister is living in US for around 10 years and now is US citizan. she is homemaker and my brother-in-law is working in IT field. Me and my wife are in IT and
    monthly take home is around 1.4 Lac / month. Have house in joint name. I am 34 years now. We are planning for 4 weeks vacation with my sis and family, also visit tourist destinations.

    Past Status:
    2007 - Company A - Applied as Batchlor - L1B - Visa Stamped (Not travelled to US)
    2012 - Company B - Applied along with Spouse - L1B - Visa Rejected (VO asked to apply in other relivent category, he ment H1B)
    [Not travelled to any country, till date]

    Present Status:
    2014 - Company C - Will be applying along with spouse and 9 month son - B2 Visa

    Questions:
    1) Who is the best person to sponser the trip?
    2) If I am not sponsering, should my sister sponser or my brother-in-law? (sister is homemaker)
    3) What should I keep in mind during interview, considering my past status.
    4) What kind of question may come?
    5) If VO ask about income what should be answer?
    Our combined annual income (CTC) is ZZZ
    Our combined take home per month is ZZZ
    Our combined gross salary per month is ZZZ
    or anything else?
    6) What are my chances?

      Always self sponsor is the best choice in B visa category.

      Since you both are working, you can sponsor the trip together.

      If you both are sponsoring, you may tell your combined income per month.

      By the way, when your sister visited you last time?

      if she visited you very recently, then it is not a good idea to apply immediately.

      This is my opinion, not a legal advice.

            plan for some ocation or vacation as purpose of visit like...

            House warming, marriage of some close relative,
            Christmas or new year celebrations etc.

            Prepare a well planned itinerary like...

            How many days you want to be there and what are all the places and people you are going to visit.

            Take a leave letter/ noc from your employer (both)

            Take a copy of your sister's passport.

            Generally they ask for

            * purpose of visit
            * income
            * family ties (father, mother or any dependents)
            * past travel history (abroad)
            * who is sponsoring the trip etc.

            As per me your chances are good.

            Prepare well and give straight and brief answers.
            Don't be nervous.

            All the best.

            This is my opinion, not a legal advice.
