  • B2 visa for 58 year unmarried person for attending niece's marriage

I have an uncle (unmarried, 58 years old) working in a private organization but annual salary is only Rs 2,40,000/- per year and a bad bank account statement. His niece (sister's daughter) is getting married next year and they want him to be there for the marriage. So in the visa application, should my uncle say he is paying for himself or should I ask him to get sponsorship documents from his sister / niece (they are well settled doctors and naturalized US citizens).

I particularly ask this question since my uncle is unmarried and a low paid job so he might appear like an immigrant who might want to stay back with his sister...correct me if I am wrong

Further, in case sponsorship option is chosen, then should it be his sister or niece? which will look better (both are well settled financially and naturalized US citizens)

Who is paying for the trip?
Write whatever the truth is. If your uncle is paying for it really, write that and he should be ready to provide the proof how.

If someone else if paying for it, write that and provide the proof.

It does not matter whether sister or niece agrees to pay for it, as long as someone is agreeing.
