I need some professional advice regarding my, rather complicated, case. I entered the US back in 2009 on a B2 tourist visa and overstayed (by a period of less than 180 days) and I also worked illegally. Whenever I tried to reenter the US on a VWP in August 2010 I was denied entry and had to return home. In my passport was stamped the code 212(a)7(A)(i)(I). 6 months later my petition for my H1B visa was approved but because of my overstay and working illegally I was denied the visa at the interview. I spoke with my lawyer and she suggested that I was probably banned for 5 years. It will be 5 years in the summer and I was wondering if it was possible for me to visit the US and, if so, what visa would I need? I have no intention of ever moving back to the US and I have plenty of evidence to show that I am now settled in my home country, including a family. I was just hoping that my actions as a young man would not stay with me for the rest of my life.
