I-134 for Visitor VISA

I am planning to sponsor (paying for trips, accommodation, etc.) for my mom's visit to US if she is granted to a B2 VISA. I had an impression that it is mandatory to send a notarized I-134 to sponsor a B2 VISA, but the instructions for I-134 say the purpose of I-134 is entirely different!!

Can I someone please clarify if one needs to send a a notarized I-134 to sponsor a B2 VISA? If not, will a letter addressed to the VO will suffice?

Also, can someone please send a list of documents or a link showing the same that are needed to appear for B2 interview?

There is no notarization requirement for completing an I-134, Affidavit of Support.

Use of an I-134 when applying for a visitor visa is purely voluntary, not a requirement, but may help to obtain approval for the visitor visa.

The interviewer will be more interested in the applicant's proof of having to return to his home country, i.e., employment, children in school, owership of real estate, etc.
