Query-Fathers appt

Hi,

I booked appt for my parents in chennai for Dec 05th unfortunately due to bad health my father may not be able to for an interview.
Can my mom go alone? will that be a problem for her to get Visa. Also in a column they have asked for person travelling with you in DS-156 and In 134 i have added my fathers name in moms DS-156, will that cause a problem??
What should she answer if they ask her why my father did not accompany her for the interview


Please answer me as i am in Dilema now......
