Passport Renewal: Does it require new visa?

Hi,

My parents are planning to visit US this summer and they have valid tourist visas which expire only in 2020. However, their passports are expiring in August and need renewal. If they renew their passport, do they need to apply for new visa?

Not required to apply for new visas. They are still valid even passports are expired. But they need to carry expired passports, which have the valid visas on them along with new passports.
