Should Kids for tourist visa interview.

My Sister-in-law and kids are going for stamping. Brother is not going to US as he is busy at his work.
we are planning to book the interview for all 3 (SIL and 2 kids).

Does this mean they need not come for visa interview?

what do you suggest? should they accompany (or) is not needed.
