IMP Interview tomm; Will renewing B2 visa cancel existing?

Hi,

My mom's visit visa expires on August 2015.
I am currently in India and will be returning to US soon. We have an appointment for renewing my mom's visa in 2 days.
I am getting really worried. What if for some reason her visa gets denied. Will they also cancel her existing visa which is good till August?

The chances are bright to get your mom's B2 visa be renewed if she has made multiple entries to the United States already on existing b2 visa which is going to be expired in August, 2015 and there should be no 'Overstay' history shown against her previous visit(s). Don't worry and just relax.

Generally they renew almost all genuine cases who didn't abuse the visa. But, if they deny renewal, they also cancel existing visa. Better to postpone, if you have any doubts or if she want's to visit before August.

If you become US citizen recently, then it is a bit difficult to get it renewed or else no worries.
