  • Want to Sponsor my mother

    Hi,
I am on H1 visa from Oct 2004 and previously I entered USA on H4 visa.
But do not have W2 form for year 2004 as I got project on March 2005
I will get the W2 form for 2005 in Jan 2006
I also have all my pay stubs from March 2005 onwards.
I can show bank balance upto 35K for supporting my mother.
Currently my passport is not having stamp on H1 but I do have valid I-797 doc.

My husband is on H1 from last 5.5 years and has all the W2 forms.
He can show better bank balance to support my Mother that is his mother-in-law for tourist trip.
Currently his passport also do not have stamp of extension but he does have Valid I-797 Doc.

My father recently pass away and that we are wanting my mother to visit for 3-6 months in 2006 summer.

Also we are getting March 2006 date for my Mother's visa appointment.
Also I am visiting India for some ritual will get my stamping done in March 2006 itself and would like to bring my mother with me once her stamping is also done.
My mother will be able to show good bank balance but the house is still on my father's name. And I have 3 other elder sisters married and settled in India with their husbands and kids.

My question is since we have choice for me or my husband sponsoring my mother or both of us sponsoring together, what would be best option, who should sponsor my mother, and what all care we should take since it is purely tourism visit.
Also is it fine if home is on father's name or that we need to transfer it to my mother's name which seems to be difficult by then.

    Thanks for help in advance,
    Regards,
    avnic

    1. Either of you can sponsor. If you can sponsor, that is better.
    2. You don't need to transfer house in your mother's name.

      Hi!

      Hi!
I would suggest your husband should sponsor the trip ONLY based on one topic I read on this website.....one some entered on visitor visa and changed to work permit visa here.

Your mom can talk abt your sisters and their family to show family ties back in India.

Advantages of me(H1B) or my husband(H1B) sponsoring my mother.

        Hi,
My mother is 67 years old and my father passed away recently.
She has just got school education and cannot speak English.
She would rather take interview in Gujarati at Mumbai Consulate.
In such a case how would she get transfer to work permit in USA.
As such we are intending to bring her first for 3 months only to due to her age limitation, she might not be able to adapt US environment, and it is only for tourism purpose.
Can you please clarify in detail as to what is the advantage of my Husband sponsoring rather then me.
Also I have 17th March 2006 as my H1B stamping date, since this will be my first visit to India after my H4, H4-H1 transfer.
Would it be a problem for my stamping?
My mother's stamping date would be schedules after mine.
And My mother would say that my daughter has come for stamping and I will go with her for 3 months, and need to come back since all my other daughters and grand children are in India.

Please let me know asap how should I present my case and docs to be send?
        Thanks in advance,
        avnic

          Hi!

I did not mean to say that they will look at her as some one who will change to work permit. I meant potential immigrant.

If you want to sponsor go ahead and do so too. I did not say you should not and your husband should.
