  • Not sponsoring parents US visitor visa after rejection , is that a problem?

    Hello,
I live in the US (am single if that matters) and my parents are going in for their Visitor visa interview on 27th Jan 2015 at mumbai consulate. They had previously applied for visitor visas in 2012, where we declared that I will sponsor their trip and provided required documents. I have a sister who was married and settled in India at the time of the interview in 2012. My father had retired and Mom was working at the time and is still working. Their visa was rejected with the reason that they are possible immigrants.

So we decided to not declare my sponsorship this time but it will be self sponsored by them. I wanted to know if there might be any issues with this and if the VO asks them why I am not sponsoring this time around, what should they answer.

    Thanks in Advance.

I just wanted to update the thread, incase it may help other people. My parents' visas were approved this time .

      They were only asked

      - Who lives in USA (told about me)

      - When did he last visit India( 2 yrs ago in my case)

      - Asked about my father's occupation before retirement

      - Do you have any other children and what do they do.
