Native language for Visa at Mumbai Consulate?

Hi,

We recently booked visa appointment for my mother from https://www.vfs-usa.co.in
We never got any option for regional language.
My mother cannot give interview in English.
She can only give interview in Gujarati.

How do we know in which language will be her interview at Mumbai Consulate.?
Is there any provision at Mumbai Consulate itself for Interpretor and if so, does the applicant need to tell them on same day or in advance say some days back?
I do remember that there are windows for Gujarati applicants but how do they mention in form abt Interview Language?

Can any one clarify in this matter?

Hi!
I don't t you get the language option while booking an appointment. Call the local VFS office check how to handle the interpreter. They should be able to help you.

I had the same question regarding translators when I took an interview for my mother. Hence, I sent them an email to which they replied as follows:

"We conduct interviews in the following languages: English, Hindi,
Gujarati and Marathi.
We have translators for these languages on permanent staff, no need to
request one.
When the applicant enters the visa waiting hall at the date of interview
they will be asked their language preference for the interview.
Arrangements will then be made to have the proper translator at the
interview."
