  • B2 VISA DENIAL UNDER 214(b). Should my mother reapply? Please HELP!

    Hi

My mom was denied B2 visa under 214(b). This was her third attempt. Her last attempt was on 2012, and my dad applied along with her.

My Profile: Male, H1B, Electrical Engineer, In US since 2005, Have gone back to home country only once.

Mom Profile: Married, House Wife, 2 kids, daughter (my sister) still going to school in home country.

    Below is the interview:
Q: Which place are you going?
    MN.

    Q: Is your son married?
    No.

Q: Do you have any other kids?
    Yes, a daughter.

    Q: Is she married?
    No

    Q: What do you do?
    House Wife.

Q: Have you visited other country?
    No.

Q: How long will you staying in US?
    2 months.

Q: What kind of work does he do?
    He does Business.

    Q: What kind of Business?
    Business of Noodles and Biscuits.

Q: Is he distributor, or does he have factory?
    Dealer.

    [VO is confused]
    [VO calls for Interpreter.]

Q: Does he have a factory or distributor?
    Dealer.

    Q: How many employee?
    12.

Q: What kind of Biscuits and Noodles?
    Britannia Biscuits and RaRa Noodles.

    [VO asks the last Question]

Q: How much does he earn?
I don't know. It should be in the files I have brought.

As you see from the conversation, VO was particularly interested in my dad’s work. My mom couldn't answer how much he was earning, and she actually meant distributor rather than dealer when she was asked about the type of business he does. (For an American, distributor and dealer are different stuffs. In fact only dealers American are aware of is 'car dealership'.) Could VO have thought a dealer being a less inferior business than distributor, having very low income (this would show a lesser financial ties)?

Could the decision have gone other way if she had answered distributor, and had she answered how much he earned?

Please advise if she should reapply.
