My sisiter (citizen) is applying for my parents greencards.They are on 10 year multiple entry.they have only 3 months left out of their six months stay.What happens if their I130 is not aproved before that?Do they have to goback to India?Is there anyway they can stay here to get their cgs without being out of status?

As long as I-485 is pending, they can stay in US.

Therefore, it is better to file I-485 together with I-130. It can be done because parents of US citizen are considered immediate relatives and there is no priority date waiting list.
