My father went for an appointment on Dec 15. His visa application got rejected. The officer just asked the following 2 questions. She did not ask for any documents but just rejected.
a) Do you have any sons/daughters in India (My dad answered no and mentioned that I'm his only son).
b) WHy are you going alone (My dad answered that my mom does not have a passport)
I'm in the US for the past 8 years. This is the first time I'm trying to get a visa for my father. My father is still not retired. He had so many good reasons to get the visa. It is very unfortunate he did not. I sometimes get a feeling that the US consulate's process of screening is not working. They end up rejecting most of the genuine cases.
