    MY STORY
I was born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, then moved to the USA very young, due to my fathers job. Here I lived my entire childhood and teenage years, and earned US citizenship. Then I decided to get my major degree in Brazil and moved back for 4 years, where I met my wife in Brazil.

After college I was offered a job in the USA therefore moved back to the US to work, we would visit eachother and wanted to make our relationship work. In one of her visits, I proposed to her (in the US), we were engaged for a couple years, she lived in Brazil and I here. After a while we did not know if it would work out anymore having a long distance relationship and we called off the engagement.

After 3 years of enduring hard distant times and great together times I did not want to give up, and we dicided to see eachother one last time. She came to visit me and we could not let go of eachother, we ended up getting married in the states a couple weeks later.

I have been reading and I saw that marriage between a citizen and someone with a B1 Visa generates some problems for the immigrant. I would like to know more about this as we have been together for 3 years and would not like to have her have to go back to Brazil now that we are married and stable.

I read about the K1 visa, and saw that it is not legal to come to the US just to marry, which was not the case, we actually wanted to end it all because it was getting way too complicated for both of us, she had a great job in Brazil and I here, we just did not have eachother.. and now I am so happy that we do.

    **** ****
I want to continue to live here and would like to pass my citizenship to her and my future children.

If someone can help me with the next step, which way to file is the correct way for me?
We have already applied for SSN and work permit.

What is the best way to change her visa status, and documents like our shared home, bank account, pictures old pictures what else are considered good documents?

if you already applied for SSN and Work Authorization for your wife, you must have submitted an I-130 petition and I-485 form to adjust her status Otherwise, she is not eligible for a Work Authorization. Can you clarify what papework you have submitted so far, and what is your question.

Hey Ray, thanks so much for your answer.

At the momento I have not filed any documents yet to make sure I can have thia process done as smoothly as possible.
From what I have read the interviewse are really looking for fraud couples so there I have nothing to fear. But when I saw the30/60 comments I started to worry, as the law goes when my wife came to the US it was to end it all or stay together we had broken up. We did not know what would be the future of our relationship and it wound up the best way possible we got married.

My question is considering my scenario how should I proceed? Should I wait to apply for aos, my wife also needs to get back to work, she is a teacher and loves her job. Can you please let meknow what I should do next?

Why did you say earlier that you had applied for your wife's SSN and Work Authorization, but now say you haven't submitted anything? If your wife's current status is a B1 visa, she is not eligible for an SSN or a Work Authorization.

            Alexandre,

Submit I-130 and I-485 packages to the Chicago Dropbox address from the USCIS website (Forms, I-485). Include two checks for $420 and $1,070, a USCIS-listed doctor immigrant medical exam on form I-693 in sealed envelope, I-864, I-765, I-131, and supporting documents.
