  • Solo Girl (29 yr) B1/b2 question help please

    Hello all

This is my first time I will apply for a US visa, I'm 29, have been working since last 7 years and I earn 76000 INR a month

My previous travel history is a solo trip to Europe for 40 days in 2013

And a trip to Thailand (7 days)

My interview is scheduled for 31 March and if someone can give pointers?

I am applying for 3 weeks and am going to stay with a friend who is a US citizen and I intend to go to NY, SF, LA, LV and DC

Can someone help me with any flaws in my application and anything I can do to get the visa? I truly have no intention besides a holiday but I undrstand they have their own criteria so any help would be great?

Edit : I have about 2.8 lac in my savings account and 9 lac in Fixed deposits and I have mentioned as "Self" for who is paying for the trip

It's not necessary to mention specially, about your US citizen friend and it may turn negative sometimes.

Since you already have foreign travel history and habit of traveling alone to the places, your trip may appear so natural to VO, unlike others.

You may just mention, that you wish to visit couple of friends as the part of your tour.

You should prove that the balance in your account will support your current US trip. So, maintain accordingly.

        Good luck.

This is my opinion, not a legal advice.

          Hello

Savings ac has a balance of about 2.8 lac and I'll apply from mumbai so is that enough or do you recommend I make t higher ? But from what I know they don't really see documents?

I hve friends in NYC and DC and rest I will use hotels so that's what I will speak of

I assume this would go smooth but if there are any other pointers do let me know?

          Thanks again for your help

Experts says that 75% of the decision (denial/approval) will be made, before applicant reaching the interview window, based on the information filled in the DS160 and for the rest 25% of decision, they conduct the interview.

So, one can understand the importance of the information filled in the DS160. Giving genuine information and being truthful to VO is key for a successful visa interview.

Yes, they hardly look into any documents. But it doesn't mean that you can go to interview without any supportive documents. You have to be prepared with some basic documents, keep them handy and submit/show when asked.

If the officer willing to issue the visa but wish to see/check the document and confirm that the information you provided is correct, but you don't have that copy with you at the moment, then he/she may put your case in pending/AP and ask you to mail the required documents/information.

You can say that you are going to stay in hotels if no friends are there in particular location and it's not a problem.

Take leave/noc from your employer for the vacation/tour period. Carry payslips/IT return documents, bank statements etc. Prepare a tentative itinerary/tour plan.

Be confident, give straight and brief answers to VO. Maintain eye contact while answering and don't lie with VO.

As per me, you have fair chances of approval, if you can prepare and perform well at interview.

This is my opinion, not a legal advice.
