Missing w2s and and tax returns

I can't find my last 3 years w2s and copy of 2003 tax returns. As a sponsor, i need to submit last 3 years copies of tax returns and w2s.

Is there anyway to get a copy of those missing w2s and tax returns?

call the IRS; they will send you a transcript of you past returns.
I'm not sure how you can get W2 though.

you can get both tax return forms ans w2s. there is a 1 800 number on irs website, call them and let them know you need them for sponsoring visa for your family

You can request transcript of tax returns from IRS itself.

I called credit technologies and they actually get the transcripts for tax returns and W2s from IRS itself.

My question is will transcripts work or do i need to get exact copy of tax returns and W2s?

If you don't have the original I think tanscripts are the best alternative. I haven't heard of anyone submitting the transcripts or any issues due to that. May be you can prepare your folks with the answer why transcripts are being submitted instead of original photocopies (Thats ONLY if they ask).
