  • Affidavit of Support - Do I need to provide multiple

Hi, this is Kiran and I'm on H1B visa. I would like to sponsor B2/Tourist visa to my mother and sister. My sister is married.
    1) I wanted them to attend visa interview together. Is it feasible?
    2) If yes to 1st question, then do I need to fill two Affidavit of support forms, one for my mother and other one for my sister?
    3) If so, for the question "previously submitted affidavits for support for following" should I mention 'None'. Or should I mention my mother details in my sister's affidavit?

    Please clarify. Thanks in advance!

    Answer to (1): Yes.

Answer to (2): I-134 should be filled for each of them separately. However, note that the I-134 form is seldom asked for and will almost certainly be useless. One carries it only as a backup. What your focus should be is on the interview, the possible questions. The consular officer will ask about you, the sponsor - your visa status, when you went to the U.S., which company you work for and in what capacity, your education, your place of residence and work, and so on. Your mother and sister should know all these details about you. The consular officer will quickly form an impression based on your profile (both the information filled in the DS160 and the information gleaned at the interview), not on the basis of the I-134. They should carry with them your pay stubs (of the past 3 months) and a statement of balance from your bank. Again, most likely won't be asked for or seen, but good to have as backup.

Thank you for the details. I appreciate!
