  • Re-applying for sister-in-law's visitor visa

    Hello all,

I have a question regarding reapplication of the visitor visa for my sister-in-law(brother's wife). We applied for her visa in Jan 2014 and it got rejected on the basis of not enough ties to homeland. This year we are planning to apply for her visa again so was wondering if there is something we should be aware of so that the chances of visa approval increases.

Moreover, we will be applying for my nephew's visa too. He is 7 months old.

Thank you in advance for the help.

If you want pointers then you have to provide a little more information and background. Otherwise all we can say is the same old generic advice that you can find on the State Dept website.

      Background:
      1) she was not working at that time.
      2) Rejected visa on bases on section 214b(Not strong ties to home land)
      3) I sponsored her visa and provided documents that I will be sponsoring her trip as well.

      Now:
      1) She is working drawing a reasonable salary.
      2) This time she is applying for a visa without any sponsorship and providing details that they will be funding the trip.

Is there any other specific information that is needed?

She will be asked why her husband is not traveling with her (assuming that is indeed the case). She must have a convincing answer for that.
