Hi There!
I am on an L1 visa and will be quitting my job next week. I will be moving back to India in 2 months and will be filing the I539 change of status as I have a valid B1/B2 visa.
Few questions in this scenario:
1.) If I travel outside the country to Mexico/Canada in a month from now and come back to the US (before I leave for good in June beginning) will there be any issues with my reentry (assuming that all I have is the receipt from the filing of I539)
2.) If I do not file the I539 and travel outside the country(Canada) the next day after leaving my job and come back into the US a week later, will I be allowed in on my B1 B2 visa?
Are there any potential problems with either 1 or 2 or both? Is it safer to not travel outside the country till I go back to India?
Anyone have any experiences to share, that would be really helpful.
