HELP: Documents required for Self employed

All,

My father is going to visa interview next week for a visitor's visa. He is working as an LIC agent. What are the supporting documents that needs to take along with him? He doesn't have a regular monthly salary. He makes money only when he sells policies. Mostly Rs. 10,000/- a month.

Please suggest what documents he needs to carry along with him.

If he is funding his own trip, he should be able to demonstrate his ability to pay for it. He could take his tax returns of the past 3 years that show how much he made in each of those 3 years, he could take his bank statement showing his savings. He will most likely be asked for his income. Since you say it is not a constant salary, he could say something to the effect that "on average I have earned xxx every year the past 3 years."
