  • My Parents + My Uncle for tourist visa interview.

    Hi All,
    Here's my story.
My father is not educated. He is a farmer. My mother is home maker and not educated too. They both live in our native village. I was raised by my father's elder brother, he was a Professor and now retired. He(my uncle) looked after my education.

Currently, I am in US. I want to apply for my parents and my uncle (3 people) tourist visa. Since my uncle is more educated and can handle the interview well,
    1. Can I make my uncle as primary applicant, in US travel docs, and add my father and mother as dependents? OR
    2. Make father as primary applicant, and add my mother and my uncle (because he is retired) as dependents?

Ultimately, I want all three people to be in same interview slot.
One thing is for sure, there is no way that my father/mother can go seperately. No way.

Please suggest what would be the best approach?
    Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "dependents"? They will each have to fill a separate DS-160 form. They can go to the interview together as one group/family. A more important question is, who is funding the visit for the three of them?

The lack of education of your parents is almost irrelevant to the visa process and will not affect the decision one way or the other. They can schedule the interview in their mother tongue. However, they need to be prepared to answer questions, about themselves and about you. So, prepare them well.
