Alcohol training on visitor visa

Hi, I am here on visitor visa from India and I intend to change my visa status to H2B seasonal work visa in near future.
I have an opportunity to take a short course (few hours) for alcohol training.
I already have my state id for state of Maryland.

I was wondering if that is a good move for me considering my plans of my status change soon.
