info about rescheduling jan appoinments

hi all!!
i just read the info about rescheduling january appointments...
is it true? my parents have an appointment on jan 30th at chennai consulate
will they surely email or call us if appoinment is rescheduled?suppose if i dont get any call or email should i consider that appoint is on jan 30th only or should i call them?
