Hi- I am American and live and work in Mexico, and my boyfriend, who is Mexican, is applying for his tourist (B2) visa. We would like to travel to the US to visit my family and to go sightseeing, but we have no intention of staying in the US right now, as our home base is in Mexico. Would it be better for him to mark "single" as his martial status, or "domestic partnership?" We have been living together for about 4 years, like a "married" couple, but we are not married. If he marks "domestic partnership" and then has to provide the information that I am American, will that reduce his chance of getting the visa because he has "ties" in the US? (We have thought about the fiancee visa, but we wanted to the visit the states before taking the plunge and getting married). Or is it worse to mark "single" because it indicates that he doesn't have "ties" to his home country? Also, his mother and his sister live in the US- will it be necessary to share this information on the application? Thank you for any ideas or suggestions.
