Help needed with filling DS 160
I am a doctor from India. I have been awarded a scholarship from scoliosis research society and have been invited to attend a conference in US in September this year. I am planning to take my wife and kid along with me and our plan is to do a bit of sightseeing in Chicago and New York after my conference. We have already booked the to and fro air tickets but have not yet booked our stay in US. Please help with with the following;
1. I have already filled in and submitted my DS-160 form but have not yet scheduled the interview. In the section on - Address where you will stay in US - I have just written the street and city address of the Hotel where the conference is going to be held. I have not mentioned the name of the hotel and importantly we might not be staying in that hotel as it is very expensive. So what do I do now - should I book my stay(which will be in some other hotel) and fill in a new DS-160 form and enter the correct details or should I proceed with the same form and name the hotel ( where the conference is being held or the hotel which I have booked ) if asked during the interview?
2. What do I fill in in the section on ' US point of contact' for my wife and kid? Should I write the same as I have written it in my DS 160? ( scoliosis research society - which is sponsoring my travel ).
3. We are traveling in the last week of september and intend to stay there for 2 weeks. When is the ideal time to schedule an interview - as early as possible as stated in the consulate website or 2 months prior to travel keeping in mind that the issued VISA may expire in 3 months.
