Visitor's visa expired

Greetings, my cousin was here in the US, she had a visitors visa green card and got a social security number. She went back to Trinidad before her visa expired but stayed . She now wants to come back to the US. What suggestions or information can any one offer? She got the visa through her mother, who at the time was here as well but has since gone to Trinidad(not her home country though). She went to school here and like I said has a valid social security number even had a nys id card. Any info would help greatly.
