B2 Visa-Should Sponsor be in US at the time of B2Visa Interview

Hi,

I'm planning to visit India(short Vacation) and also I applied for B2Visa for my Parent.At the time of B2 Visa interview I would be in India.Is it mandatory as the Sponsor should be in US for B2Visa at the time of interview.

My mom got approved for B2 visa today, while I was outside Mumbai Consulate waiting for her. I am currently on paid vacation (3 weeks trip) to India. Hope this answers your question.
