visitors visa query- employment status different while filling ds 160 and interview

Request help regarding visa interview question.
My parents are attending B2 visa interview in the month on July-2015. They had filled DS160 FORM in the month of May-2015 during which my dad was a government official. However, he is retiring on 30-JUN. Hence, when he will be attending visa interview in JULY, his employment status would be "retired". Will this be an issue since the ds 160 form has his employment data as "government official". Is it ok to tell the interview officer that he retired just before the interview.
Kindly help. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.
