US Contact Passport Expiry
Hello,
I'm on L2 visa & my wife is on L1 VISA. We have visa till Sep 2017. However, my passport expiration is in Nov/2015.
This has affected my stay at US which is allowed till passport expiration, but not the stay of my wife which is allowed till Sep 2017. However, all our us docs such as NY motor license (for me & my wife) and her EAD has the validity till my passport expiry date only.
Now, my parents and inlaws are applying for B2 Visa and I'll be showing myself as US contact/close related in US for my parents and my wife as US contact/close relative for her parents. Sponsorship shown as 'Self' for all 04. When these people apply for Visa, will my passport expiration date (nov/15) will affect their B2 visa validity?
Do I need to first renew my passport, extend the stay and then apply for parent's/inlaw's visa?
Please advise.
