Choosing consulate for Visa interview

Hello,

My parents lived in Mumbai since 1978 . They have their passports based with our Mumbai Address. Just recently, with switch in job my parents moved to Hyderabad.

Any advise, regarding at which consulate should they be applying for their tourist visa ? My first thought was , that they should be applying / attending visa interview at the location that's closer to the address mentioned on their passports . Correct me if I am wrong ?

Would there be any problem if they attend interview at the Mumbai consulate and while showing records that they my dad currently works in Hyderabad.

Pls advise.

They live in Hyderabad.

They will list their residence on their Form DS-160 as an address in Hyderabad.

Why wouldn't they make an appointment at the consulate in Hyderabad?
