  • Visitor visa for retired parents and property on grandparents name

    Hi All,

I will be sponsoring my Mom and Dad's visitor visa and i have a question here. My dad is retired and only gets pension. he does not have any property on his nam and his bank balance also is not all that good. Howeveri have my elder brother in India who is married and recently they he was blessed with a baby boy. Please let me know what is the chances of my dads and moms visitor visa getting approved. Also my wife is pregnant now and if the officer asks regarding this in interview to my parents are they suppose to tell about this or is it ok to not tell about prgnancy as that might reduce the chnces of getting the visa approved. Please help ASAP.

Your sponsoring your parents. Someone who is retired would have limited funds/income. That should not be a problem. As far as strong ties to home country, family there including children and grandchildren will help. Not having property not so much. I am assuming your parents are coming because your wife is pregnant? Many parents come here to visit when grandchildren are born. That is very common and would be expected. You would always explain in truth the reason for visiting. The consulate officers job is to detect incorrect information, therefore I would not give any.

Every visa approval is up to the consulate officer on that particular day. There is no way to know for sure other than going for the interview.

This is my opinion and not legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

Thanks a lot for your response. However if they are asked what is the source of their monthly income, should they just say that me and my brother are supporting them along with their pension amount which is a very small amount. Thanks in advance
