  • B1/B2 visitor visa for spouse of US citizen (Indian citizen studying in Canada)

    hi,

Im indian citizen, currently in Canada on study permit (valid till mid 2016). I got my visa in Jan 2015, I hooked up with a US citizen in India in Feb 2015. then i came to Canada for my MBA. My husband is very well settled in Cali and he came to visit me all the way from their (by road) and he was refused to enter in Canada (duet DUI [drink and drive ticket 3 years back] on his license). We both were so depressed. I'm in process of my MBA and going to be on my vacations from August to September. Hence i'm planning on to visit US on visitor visa (FYI: my immigration petition is already in process since june 2015).

I have already paid my fees in $$$$ for MBA for September till December.
I have already paid my rent in $$$$ for same time period at University residency. (Both are non-refundable)
I have bank balance at a bank in $$$$

So with all these proofs and with the reason that since he cannot visit me here I am planning on to apply for B1/b2 visa on end of July at Vancouver consulate.

what are the chances that it will be approved?
    What are the shortcomings?
should I highlight the DUI (SINCE it is strengthening the reason of visiting him)
    any other advice?

PS: I have been surfing google from months and months, but my case been a very unique I was unable to find any information on gOOGLE. HOPE I'LL BE able to get help from here.

    Thanking you
    Regards
    Harpreet Kaur
