  • B2 visa/vwp after overstayed f1 visa for 45days

    Hello everyone,
I graduated from college in may2014 and left the states on August 15 2014, I overstayed my visa for around 45 days. Now I'm planning to return to the states to attend my best friends graduation on December 2015, should I apply for VWP to try or just go straight to applying a b2 visa. Will I be possible to get a b2visa? What should I do?

    Thank you .
    Marc

Because you overstayed your visa, you'll never be able to use the Visa Waiver Program

Also search for "Visa Waiver Program overstay" - using Google or your preferred search engine. And don't try to enter the US on VWP - on the port of entry, the CBP officer has access to all your entries/exit to/from the US - and they will know you overstayed.

So - what's left? Apply for a B2 visa. However, be aware that with your previous overstay, it may be difficult for you to get the visa.
