My parents original appointment is on Jan 27th'2006(10:00am)

Got a mail 2 weeks ago saying appointment has been postponed to Jan 27th'2006(12:00pm).


Today got another email saying appointment is preponed to Jan18th2006.

How come this is possible?

What to do?

My documents are posted yesterday.

Hi!

Ask them to call or walk to a local VFS office and confirm. I would assume the letter with the latest date would be held valid. Always best to check and make sure.

How did you send the documents? If it is Fed-Ex it usually is available there in India in 3-5 days. I sent my documents through Fed-Ex on Friday 6:30pm and it was delivered at my home in India on Monday 1 noon.

I used USPS express mail. Will take 5 days,

My parents need to travel from Andhra to Chennai, They got their reservations for 27th.

They need to prepare notarized and CA cerified documents..

How can embassy people prepone the date instead of postpone?

I sent mail to VFS.

This is the second attempt for my parents.

I just know that VFS overbooked the appointments and are moving a lot of Jan appointments to Feb. My mother-in-law scheduled for Jan 24th has been moved to Feb 13th. It is surprising that they advanced it.

We called up VFS even before they sent the mail and they confirmed what they sent in an email later. I would encourage calling up VFS and asking about it.

If you ever gets any notification of postponing the interview date, always confirm by calling to vfs office with your reference and re confirm it before you make any travel to Consulate
