  • Parents Visa rejected at Calcutta First Time.

    Questions asked :
To Father : 1) Where You going and how long? 2) Which place your son lives in USA 3) Is he green card holder? 4) Give me your sponsor documents? 4) When was you retired?

To Mother : 1) You son is in USA for 5 years, why you did not go yet? 2) Does your son sends money to you? 3) Upon answering yes, How many times ? 3) Upon answering 2-3 times, 2 or 3 Times? My mother said 3 times.

Response : We are not giving you visa.

My Conclusion : My mother proved to counsellor that she is dependent upon me financially. She got not nervous and did not answer right. But either way, what do you expect from a 60 years old lady who never appeared in an interview before. Sponsor should thoroughly explain about the objectives of interview to parents and prepare them for un expected questions like above.

      Hi!

That was sad to know BUT you can try again. I think is pure luck most of the times. BUT remember you need to look and be confident and it really helps a LOT!

But I hope your mom being your dependent is not the reason for reject. Come on whats wrong with that? There are lots of them who are. And the I-134 itself shows that they are dependant and you are sponsering their trip.

Regardless of the sponsor, the applicants has to prove they have the capability to support the trip if situations warrant.

          Hi ,

It's really pain when parent visa get cancelled. I did come across one of the question been asked :

          2) Does your son sends money to you ?

What would be the right answer !!! ( last it's been posted that, the reply for this is, No, we are self depedant and manage our self and THY Granted visa).

Not Sure what wld be the right one..my parent having interview on 13th jan..

Any suggestion would be really appreciated.

          Thnks

I really don't think it is required for the applicant to prove their financial ability. If questioned they can show that their trip is being sponsered by their son/daughter/sil etc. My mil doesn't have a bank account or a property in her name BUT when asked how she would make the trip she just said that my son is sponsering the trip and the Officer had no problem with it and granted her 10 multiple visa. I feel it is purely luck at times.

I think it's ok to tell Yes. Incase you say No to that question then they should be able to prove the same too.
