  • Father retired Que

    Hi,
My parents' visa got rejected last week. Me & my husband are Green Card holders. My father is a retired teacher. What I'm thinking is may be the combination of retired & GC did not work.
I'm planning to take next appointment soon.
This time I want to show him as working. I will get Appointment letter /salary related docs surely. Just want to know
    1. Is it a good idea of showing him as working ?
    2. they may ask him that 4 months back he was retired on DS156 & now how come he is working ? what shud be the right answer ?
    3. What if I show that he is a farmer now ? How much land & income you need for it ?
    4. Is it ok if I show that he is doing some clerikal work in some private office ?
    5. He gets pension very less, below income tax range . How much income do you think will be appropriate ?
    6. How abt taking private tutions somewhere ??

i wud really appreciate your help.

    Thanks.

Personally I think you should not change the status from retired to working. That will raise lot of questions and whatever answers you may provide in my opinion it wont satisfy the co. So if I were you, I will just try another time showing the same ties (property, children in India etc) and in that case there is a chance. I am planning to do the same, My father is also retired, no pension, got rejected this month beginning, I am planning to try one more time with the same status.

I would agree w/ kitkat01. Dont lie & complicate things. My parents are both retired & we are GC holders & they got their visa w/o any problem. So being retired & GC holders may not the the reason for ur parents Visa rejection.

        Hi!

Not a good idea to lie. My uncle is retired, no pension, all his 4 kids here in US (2- citizens now, 1 GC, and 1 H1B) but he did get a 10 year multiple entry visa. I think it is a matter of luck at times too.

Some cases with everything same get visa rejected and similar cases get approved, donno how or why?
