Hi All,
Here is the context. I have invited my in-laws to visit USA towards the end of this year (2015). Both my in-laws went together and gave their visa interview in Hyderabad recently. They were asked few questions about my job, location and few other details for which they replied with confidence. Later, the focus shifted to my father-in-laws job details. While he was explaining about what he does on his job, the interviewer interrupted and asked them if the company he works for is a ALCOHOL based company. He replied Yes and the interviewer returned their passports along with "form 214-b".
Interview Questions asked to in-laws by the VO:
1. My job and address?
2. Who is sponsoring for the trip? Answer given: Son-in-law
3. How many children do you have? Answer given: just the number. They haven't mentioned where specifically they stay.
4. Any grandchildren? Answer given: NO
5. What is the nature of your job (father-in-law)? Answer given: Operator in alcohol company
6. Salary? Answer given: 3.5 lacs / annum
7. No further documents were asked - REJECTED
Questions to the forum:
1. Timing wise, when should I be booking their next interview slot? I am thinking to book a slot within next 30 days. Is it advisable
2. In their recent visit, the sponsor has been kept as "SELF" is DS-160. However, my in-laws have replied that I will be the sponsor. They were ignorant of what was filled in as it was filled by a consultancy on behalf of them.
Is it OK to change sponsor in the next DS-160? What kind of questions can we expect around this?
3. Since, there was a rejection based on my father-in-law nature of job, I am thinking on sending my mother-in-law alone for the next interview. If the interviewer asks about her husband not accompanying her for the interview, what answer would be appropriate?
