  • B2 VISA: Father name with middle is missing in my passport

    Hello there,

I am planning to apply for B2 visa for my parents. But I have a concern regarding my Father's name mismatch in my passport and his passport.
My father's name has my grand father's name appended which is not there in my passport, will it cause any issues. Kindly help me, its killing me out.

    My Passport:
    Surname: Devuri
    Given Name: Jyothi
    Father's Name: Venkatrajam Devuri

    My Father's Passport:
    Surname: Devuri
    Given Name: Venkatrajam Chandraiah
    Father's Name: Chandraiah Devuri

    Will it cause any issues?

    Please help, very urgent.

    Thanks,
    Jyothi

    That's fine.

Your parents only need to provide your passport copy if asked for. It is their application. All you are doing is paying for their trip and helping them fill the form.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Thank you for your reply, do you suggest to take affidavit in case if they ask the my passport and compare.

      Thanks,
      Jyothi

No need. It is highly unlikely that they will be even asked for it. What is more important is their own ties to home country.

          Hi,
Can you tell me about your experience?

Did they ask you about any affidavit or any changes in the passport?

          Regards,
          Sandeep

Nothing to worry. Its their application and US-consulate is more concerned about their passport and details submitted in DS-160.
But, still I have applied for name correction before my parents start their journey.
