    Hi,
My 67 year old mom is scheduled an appointment for visitors visa from chennai consulate on jan 31st. I have few questions to ask.

1, My mom doesn't have her birth certificate and only she has her baptism certificate. And lately we found out that the date of birth in baptism certificate is wrong ,and now We don't have enough time to correct it. Is it necessary to keep the proof for date of birth in visitor's documents.??? or is it ok to have a passport with right date of birth on it or do I have any other options????

    2. Another thing is my mom was rejected from her first attempt for visitor's visa ,that was on aug.2005 because we didn't pick any interpreter that time and she couldn't attend the interview. And then again we took the appointment via TTS for early Feb 2006. Now about the fees we have little confusion.I think during the first attempt they took the application fee and service charge. now what all DD's we need to make before go for the interview?????????Any of the given fees during the first attempt is refundable.?

    3. I heared lots of appts are getting moved to feb from jan and I never got a e-mail/letter from vfs regarding any change in my appointment. How do I find out if my appointment has changed or not?

    please help me in this,

    thanks in advance.
    ulah.

I think ur mom will be fine without BC. Never heard of officer asking for BC of the visitor applicant.

I am not sure abt the TTS process, but if u didn't pay the visa issuance fee, then u will have to take DD for that. Check this site for the exact amount.
Application fees are non refundable. u have to pay Visa issuance fee ONLY if visa is approved.

If u don't have email from VFS, it means that ur appt is NOT changed. Also u can call them at the number specified on their website to make sure.

      Hi!

Your mom does not need her birth certificate

If your first visa was rejected then you would need to pay the fees again and not the service charge. However if she could not make it to the interview or they asked her to take a slot with an interpeter and attend the interview then you would need to just take with you the visa assurance fees (updated value).

I have heard that interviews moved from Jan to Feb, haven't really heard from Feb to Jan. Also think that postponment from Jan to Feb were effected only appts made through VFS and not TTS.
