  • Parents Stay in US

    Hi,

My parents are on visitors visa and are currently visiting me in US. They are scheduled to leave US on on October 10th. I would like to extend their stay till December 10th. Their I94 is valid till December 15th. However, my mother's passport is going to expire on April 15th, 2016. Is it going to create a problem while going back (at the US airport or in India at immigration services) given that she will have less than 6 months validity on her passport?

I will really appreciate your comments.

    Thanks

There shouldn't be any issue at all in going back to India. If she was getting a new visa and/or coming to the US, then they might say something about it (don't want people to end up stranded with an invalid passport, in their country) but going back to one's own country is perfectly fine.
